Cut potatoes into large cubes. Add to a pot of cool water with 2 tbsp of salt and cook for 20-25 minutes or until fork-tender.
When potatoes are fully cooked strain them and add them to a mixing bowl.
Add salt, pepper, butter, milk, and sour cream to your potatoes.
Using a whisk or potato masher, mash your potatoes until smooth and creamy. If you like a chunky country-style consistency do not mash the potatoes completely.
Adjust seasoning accordingly. Enjoy!

In this recipe, I used regular butter but oftentimes I replace standard butter with Smart Balance. It's healthier and tastes just as good.If you are using salted butter, cut back on the amount of salt you put in the water and in the actual potatoes themselves.Remember taste as you go and make it your own!
