Apple Cider - Spiced & Spiked!

 

Perfect for the holidays, mulled cider is an apple cider that has been steeped with spices.  While usually served warm, this recipe is also great cold!

 

Add a kid-friendly version of this non-alcoholic beverage to the kiddy table.  Spice things up for the adults by adding a splash of your favorite liquor to your beverage.  See recipe notes below for alcohol measurements.

Apple cider steeped with aromatics, spices, and fruit. Served hot or cold.

Equipment

  • Medium Pot

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 gallon Apple Cider
  • 2 sticks cinnamon
  • 12 each cloves
  • 1 each orange sliced

Instructions
 

  • Bring cider, cinnamon, cloves, and orange slices to a boil.
  • Cover with lid and allow to steep for 5-10 minutes.
  • Enjoy your beverage warm or even cold.
  • Optional: Once your cider has cooled, add 1 cup of liquor of your choice.

To this recipe, you can also add;

  • allspice berries. About 12. 
  • 1 cup of liquor
