Maple, thyme & butter. These three ingredients are extremely versatile. The original version of this recipe was created to pair salmon. This sweet and savory reduction is a great addition to meats, slices of bread, salsa's, and more! I've recreated this recipe in so many different ways. Here's how and why if you are curious.

Maple Thyme Reduction
This simple reduction pairs well with just about anything from meats to breads to salads.
Equipment
- sauce pan
- rubber spatula
- appetite
Ingredients
- 1 stick cold butter
- 1 bunch fresh thyme
- 2 cups maple syrup pure
- TT Salt & Pepper TT = To Taste
Instructions
- Add ½ stick of butter to a sauce pan along with fresh thyme, allow to cook on low heat about 3 minutes until aromatic
- Add in maple syrup, keep heat on low and allow maple syrup to simmer 5-10 minutes or until reduces by 1/4
- Once your mixture is reduced whisk in 1/2 stick of cold butter allowing butter to emulsify with your maple syrup
- Add in salt & pepper, taste & adjust flavors accordingly
